Story

This round board is a double-sided piece made for both play and display. Its rim is decorated all around with fine hand carving (menbet), turning the board into an art object as much as a game.

The playing surface is natural walnut burl. The burl's distinctive figure and grain make every board one of a kind. On the back is a chessboard with standard-size squares.

Sturdy hinges, careful finishing and select walnut make it a piece to enjoy for years. A final coat of gloss polyester protects the surface and brings out the walnut burl's figure.

Care

Keep it in a dry place, away from direct sunlight.
Store it low in the room rather than on high, warm shelves so the wood does not warp.
Wipe the surface occasionally with a soft cloth; avoid water and sharp objects.
If anything spills on it, dry it immediately with a cloth.
Do not leave the board open or half-open for long periods, to avoid strain on the hinges.
